The opening ceremony of the Solar Learning Center took place on September 4, 2026, at the Thai-German Institute (TGI). This partnership aims to provide structured training in solar energy, covering basic knowledge, system design, installation, and safe working practices. The focus is on practical learning that participants can apply in the field.
Developing People Alongside Technology
Nattha Kosuke, Chief Executive Officer of PERKE Innovation & Technology, said:
“The growth of the solar energy industry depends on more than technology alone. It also requires people with the right knowledge, understanding, and skills. We therefore aim to make the Solar Learning Center a place that brings together knowledge, technology, and industry experience, helping learners put what they learn into practice and build on their skills.”
“We want this center to be more than a training facility. We want it to be a place where experts, business owners, installers, and industry professionals can learn, share experiences, and build connections. Together, they can help develop the clean energy ecosystem and strengthen the capabilities of Thai industry over the long term.”
TGI Develops Workforce Skills and Raises Standards for Solar Installers
Pratchaya Intharanupakorn, Director of the Thai-German Institute (TGI), said:
“TGI focuses on developing people with the knowledge and skills needed to keep up with changes in industry, especially as energy technology plays an increasingly important role. Our partnership with PERKE to establish the Solar Learning Center is another important step toward creating a learning space that connects theory with hands-on practice.”
“Another key priority is raising standards for solar installers. Installers with the right knowledge and skills play a vital role in ensuring system quality, safety, efficiency, and service life. We hope the Solar Learning Center will help develop skilled professionals who meet the standards needed by Thailand’s solar energy industry.”
Solar Installer Training with a Certificate from TGI
One of the Solar Learning Center’s main goals is to develop the knowledge and skills of solar installers so they can work according to sound engineering principles, understand the entire system, and follow proper standards and safety practices.
As a next step, TGI plans to launch a solar installer training course covering both theory and hands-on practice. Topics will include solar system basics, equipment installation and connections, system operation, inspection and maintenance, as well as safety precautions and recommended practices for work in the field.
Participants who meet the course requirements will receive a certificate from TGI confirming that they have completed the training and gained the knowledge and skills covered by the course. This initiative will help support the development of professional standards for solar installers in Thailand.
